Grace bought more than 400 million U.S. dollars in polyolefin catalyst business
Kailin Chemical News On December 14, Grace signed an agreement with Ya Bao Group to acquire the latter polyolefin catalyst business at 4.16 billion U.S. dollars. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2018, subject to regulatory approval.
The acquisition includes proprietary and tailor made single-site catalysts and metallocene catalysts and activators. It also includes a series of highly optimized Ziegler-Natta catalysts for polyethylene production.
Grace hopes to finance the deal with a combination of debt and cash。 The company claims to have the world's broadest portfolio of PE and polypropylene catalysts for the production of resins for a variety of uses。
In April 2016, Grace acquired a polyolefin catalyst business from BASF, but did not disclose the price。
